Making the Most of Your First Session

Starting with an AI companion platform can feel overwhelming. Here are five tips to help you hit the ground running.

1. Start with a Staff Pick Character

Don't create a character from scratch on day one. Browse the community page and look for the Staff Pick badge — these are curated characters with rich personalities, backstories, and voice settings already dialed in. Luna, Kai, Seraphina, Dr. Elara, Raven, and Alex Chen are all excellent first choices.

2. Use Asterisks for Actions

Konsort's AI understands roleplay formatting. Wrap actions in asterisks to make them italicized actions: *walks into the room* or *smiles nervously*. This creates a more immersive experience where you're not just typing dialogue — you're describing a scene together.

3. Explore the Tool Buttons

Above your chat input, you'll see four buttons: 🎨 Image, 🎮 Games, 🌀 Twists, and 🎭 Scenarios. Try each one: - **Image** generates AI artwork of your current scene - **Games** launches interactive minigames like Truth or Dare - **Twists** adds dynamic modifiers that change the conversation - **Scenarios** gives you 1,556 pre-made scene templates to jump into

4. Toggle Spicy/Safe Mode

The toggle in the top-right of your chat controls content intensity. Start in Safe mode to get comfortable, then switch to Spicy when you want to explore more mature content. Your preference is saved per character.

5. Let the Memory Build

Don't try to dump your entire life story in the first message. The memory system works best when details emerge naturally over multiple conversations. Mention things casually — your companion will remember and bring them up later, creating genuinely surprising callbacks.

Bonus: Check Your Achievements

After your first message, you'll unlock the "First Words" achievement. Visit the Achievements page to see all 25 challenges waiting for you. It's a fun way to discover features you might have missed.
